Clear aligners

Aligners that
actually disappear.

After 18 months testing Oliv, it's the clear aligner system Dr. Sytek prefers over Invisalign.

The system

What makes it different.

Oliv is a clear aligner system that launched publicly in March 2026. Dr. Sytek was a beta provider for eighteen months before that, which means she had a year and a half of real cases with it before most orthodontists had heard the name.

Aligners that genuinely go unnoticed

Patients tell us they forget they're wearing them, and they nearly vanish in photos.

Fewer attachments

Attachments are the small tooth-colored anchors some aligner systems add to your treatment for better control and tray fit. Oliv tends to need fewer of them, which keeps the clear look cleaner.

A higher trim line for predictable movement

Oliv trays sit a little higher onto the gums than most. That extra surface area is part of why Dr. Sytek has found tooth movement more predictable with this system.

Eighteen months of testing

Why we switched.

Portrait of Dr. Lauren Sytek, orthodontist at Sytek Ortho in Alpena, Michigan

I spent eighteen months trying out Oliv before it went public. In that time I saw better fitting trays, predictable tooth movement, and fewer attachments, all with fewer in-office visits for patients as well. If aligners are right for you, Oliv is the system I trust to get the outcome you're dreaming of.

The treatment process

How Oliv treatment works,
step by step.

From your consultation to the day your teeth are where they should be.

  1. Your consultation

We take detailed photographs, two types of x-rays, and Dr. Sytek examines your bite. You leave with real treatment options and an exact cost for each.

  2. Your trays

You'll wear your series of clear trays, switching to the next set exactly when your teeth are ready. How do we know when your teeth are ready? Your at-home Dental Monitoring scan assesses tray fit and gives you the thumbs up to move ahead.

  3. Check-ins with Dental Monitoring

Many aligner patients use Dental Monitoring, so Dr. Sytek can track progress from a weekly phone scan and you come in less often. A real advantage if you're driving in from Rogers City or Cheboygan.

  4. Removal and retainers

When your bite and alignment are where they should be, treatment finishes and we fit you for retainers to hold everything in place.

Other FAQs

We moved away from Invisalign after some frustrations with the system, from both our end and our patients. Dr. Sytek gets the same excellent outcomes with trays that are less visible, with fewer attachments and fewer office visits.

It depends on how much movement your case needs. Dr. Sytek will give you a specific estimate at your consultation, once she's seen your teeth.

Call the office or message us through your Dental Monitoring app. In most cases we will have you move to the next tray early and wear it a little longer, to give the teeth time to catch up.

Most likely. Unless your case is very simple you will probably have at least a few, usually somewhere between 4 and 12. They are small and tooth-colored, and not often on the very front teeth.

Teens who qualify and are consistent about wearing their trays can do well with Oliv. Wear time is the whole game with aligners, so it comes down to the individual teen as much as the case.

Then we'll say so. If braces would get you a better result, Dr. Sytek will explain why and show you the alternative. The goal is the right treatment, not a particular product.

Hey, it happens. Sometimes it's hard to know if you're up for the lifestyle change that comes with aligners until you're walking the walk. If you need to switch to braces mid-treatment, there is a cost of $300 per arch to cover the materials.
